Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora invites applications for a full-time, permanent Community Support Worker based in Manukau. You will join the Intensive Community team and deliver assertive, recovery-focused mental health interventions in community settings, managing a designated caseload with support from a registered health professional.

Essential to hold a Level 4 National Certificate in Mental Health, a full clean NZ driver’s licence, and at least 2 years’ experience in a community setting.

Responsibilities

The Intensive Community team is an innovative, recovery focused team who are committed to excellent care and the best outcomes for our Service users. We provide assertive community-based interventions for Service users who have high and complex needs within the Counties Manukau catchment area.

As a community support worker, you will be responsible for ongoing support around assessment, within a community setting, to a designated caseload of Service users. You will be working closely with a registered health care professional to deliver an integrated and assertive model of mental health care.

To be considered for this role, it is essential to hold a Level4 National Certificate in Mental Health and a full, clean drivers licence.

• National Certificate in Mental Health Level 4 (compulsory)
• Recovery focussed and able to display this from previous work history
• Knowledge of mental illness and treatment interventions
• At least 2 years experience in a community setting
• Full clean NZ drivers licence
• Strong cultural understanding of TikangaMāori and Pacific Islander People
