Job summary

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Southern is seeking a Community Support Worker for the Intensive Community Team in Auckland. The role involves delivering recovery-focused, community-based mental health support to a caseload under supervision.

Ideal candidates hold the Level 4 National Certificate in Mental Health, have at least two years in a community setting, a full NZ driver’s licence, and strong cultural understanding of Tikanga Maaori and Pacific Islander peoples.

Qualifications

• Recovery focussed and able to evidence this from previous work history.
• Knowledge of mental illness and treatment interventions.
• At least 2 years of experience in a community setting.
• Full clean NZ drivers licence.
• Strong cultural understanding of Tikanga Maaori and Pacific Islander People.

Responsibilities

• As a community support worker, provide ongoing assessment and support in a community setting to a designated caseload of service users.
• You will work closely with a registered health care professional to deliver an integrated and assertive model of mental health care.

The Intensive Community team is an innovative, recovery focused team who are committed to excellent care and the best outcomes for our Service users. We provide assertive community-based interventions for Service users who have high and complex needs within the Counties Manukau catchment area.

As a community support worker, you will be responsible for ongoing support around assessment, within a community setting, to a designated caseload of service users. You will be working closely with a registered health care professional to deliver an integrated and assertive model of mental health care.

To be considered for this role, it is essential to hold a Level 4 National Certificate in Mental Health and a full, clean drivers licence.
