Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Team Leader in our Family Stores network in New Zealand. You will lead staff and volunteers to deliver exceptional customer and donor experiences while coaching team members, driving sales, and ensuring daily store operations align with national standards.

You will work closely with the area manager on strategic directives, model best practices, and maintain a safe, well-presented store environment that supports a positive workplace culture and community impact.

Qualifications

• Must have leadership experience and ability to motivate a team.
• Experience in retail operations and budgeting is advantageous.
• Physically fit for regular lifting and manual handling.
• Be eligible to work in New Zealand and comply with background checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff and volunteers, developing a collaborative and positive team culture.
• Provide training opportunities and support to the team.
• Ensure donation processing, pricing and merchandising meet national standards.
• Keep the store well presented, safe and welcoming for staff, customers and donors.
• Run regular team meetings to communicate targets and gather feedback.
• Adhere to policies, safety, HR and audit requirements.
• Complete day-to-day business, financial and administrative tasks.
