Job summary

Rosie’s Red-Hot Cantina & Taco Joint in Mount Maunganui is seeking a motivated Commis Chef ready to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen. You’ll help with preparing and cooking dishes, follow recipes, and keep your workspace clean while supporting the team during busy service.

Ideally you have at least one year of kitchen or hospitality experience and a cookery or food safety qualification such as NCEA Level 3.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year’s kitchen or hospitality experience.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Cookery or food safety qualification such as NCEA Level 3.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes following recipes.
• Keep workspace clean and organized at all times.
• Support senior chefs during busy service periods.
• Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards.
• Demonstrate reliability and teamwork in a busy kitchen.

Rosie's is on the lookout for a motivated Commis Chef who’s ready to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen. You’ll help with preparing and cooking dishes, keeping your workspace clean, and supporting senior chefs during busy service periods. You’ll follow recipes, maintain food safety standards, and take pride in producing delicious, high-quality food. We’re looking for someone with at least one year’s kitchen or hospitality experience and a cookery or food safety qualification such as NCEA Level 3 or equivalent. You’ll bring a passion for food, reliability, and the drive to keep improving your skills as part of a fun, hardworking team.
