Job summary

Snowy River Gold Mine in New Zealand is seeking Comminution Operators to join a growing production team. You will operate crushing, grinding and ore handling circuits, monitoring plant performance and conducting inspections to ensure safe, efficient operation.

The role offers a 7 on/7 off roster, private health insurance, accommodation allowance and transport options, with long-term career growth in a new mining operation.

Qualifications

The Role

Reporting to the Processing Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the crushing, grinding and ore handling circuits within the processing plant. You'll monitor plant performance, conduct inspections, troubleshoot issues and support continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate crushing, screening, conveying and grinding circuits.
• Monitor throughput, plant performance and process parameters.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report faults.
• Assist with shutdowns, maintenance and equipment change-outs.
• Complete operational sampling and reporting requirements.
• Maintain high housekeeping, safety and environmental standards.
• Support plant commissioning and optimisation activities.

About You

• Experience operating fixed plant equipment in mining or mineral processing.
• Experience with crushing, grinding or ore handling circuits.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Current Driver Licence.
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach.
• Gold processing experience.
• Experience with SAG mills, ball mills and crushing equipment.
• SCADA or process control system exposure.
• First Aid, Working at Heights or Confined Space certifications.
• Experience commissioning or ramping up processing plants.
