Job summary

Kaipara College, a vibrant secondary school 35 minutes northwest of Auckland, seeks an energetic SENCO to join our learner support faculty. This role is suitable for a primary trained teacher and will carry 2 MMAs.

The ideal candidate will support learners with additional needs, work with small groups, and mentor staff. Registration and legal work rights in New Zealand are required; start of Term 4 or by negotiation.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with additional needs, neurodiversity, or giftedness.
• Ability to teach small groups.
• Commitment to inclusive practice and removing barriers to learning.
• Strong relational skills with staff, whānau, and external agencies.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail, especially records and compliance.
• Team player who can mentor others, including Teacher Aides.

Responsibilities

• Support rangatahi to succeed and contribute to learner outcomes.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement SENCO plans.
• Coordinate resources and records for learners with diverse needs.
