Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in psychology or equivalent.
  • Currently registered as part of Doctoral or Masters’ level vocational training in psychology.
  • Registration with NZ Psychologist Board, with Intern Psychologist Scope of Practice.
  • Current annual practising certificate.
  • Understanding of mental health across the lifespan.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Can use Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel).
  • Can keep detailed written file notes, complete client pathway documentation and provide formal assessment reports as required.
  • Internship open only to University of Otago Clinical Psychology students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality clinical psychology service in assessment and treatment of clients.
  • Work under supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop and maintain client pathway documentation and formal assessment reports.
  • Apply culturally, clinically and legally safe practice.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
