Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Whangārei Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator to provide clinical leadership across the Emergency Department and coordinate day-to-day operations in a high-volume setting. You will lead patient flow, support nursing staff, mentor colleagues and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, timely and quality care for all ages in Northland.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse registration and relevant nursing experience
  • Minimum of five years working in an Emergency Department
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate care and manage competing priorities
  • Calm, supportive and approachable leadership style
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and evidence-based practice
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Passion for developing and supporting other nurses
  • Previous leadership, charge nurse, shift coordinator or senior nursing experience would be advantageous

About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will provide clinical leadership and coordination across the Emergency Department, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care.

You will be responsible for:

About you

We are looking for an experienced ED nurse who brings strong clinical knowledge, confidence in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine commitment to supporting others. You will ideally have:

  • Current Registered Nurse registration and relevant nursing experience
  • Significant experience (minimum of five years) working in an Emergency Department
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate care and manage competing priorities
  • A calm, supportive and approachable leadership style
  • A commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and evidence-based practice
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A passion for developing and supporting other nurses

Previous leadership, charge nurse, shift coordinator or senior nursing experience would be advantageous.
