Job summary

Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand is recruiting multiple Clinical Engineering Technicians for hospital operations across New Zealand. These temporary, full-time roles support commissioning and day-to-day clinical engineering tasks in multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have an engineering background, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to safety and quality, with start mid to late January 2027 and duration of 1–3 months.

Qualifications

• Background in engineering, biomedical engineering, electronics, or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support healthcare equipment and assets across hospital sites.
• Assist with commissioning of new healthcare equipment and assets.
• Support day-to-day clinical engineering operations and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with established clinical engineering teams to ensure safe operation.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to quality and safety in a hospital environment.
