Job summary

Alpha Recruitment seeks a Clinical Engineering Technician in New Zealand to join a large health organisation. This contract role focuses on asset registration and active maintenance of medical equipment, with start as soon as possible for 4–6 weeks and potential extension.

You will assist with installation, calibration, inspections, and documentation, ensuring compliance with standards and safety protocols within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

Are you an experienced Clinical Engineering Technician looking for an exciting opportunity in the healthcare sector? Join a large health-based organisation, where you’ll play a key role focussed on asset registration. Starting asap for 4-6 weeks with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with installation and commissioning of medical equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and standards

Perform routine inspections, repairs, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment to ensure peak performance

Carry out accurate calibration and testing to maintain equipment precision

Maintain and update equipment records to ensure full documentation

Oversee the responsible decommissioning and disposal of obsolete or unserviceable equipment

Adhere to all regulations and standards for medical equipment maintenance

Manage risk, quality assurance, and ensure compliance with relevant safety protocols

Skills & Qualifications:

NZQA Level 7 Engineering Qualification (or equivalent)

• Biomedical experience
• EWRB registration an advantage

Proven practical experience in a similar role working within a hospital environment fixing and maintaining medical equipment

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure

Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders
