Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Christchurch (150 Kilmore Street) is seeking a Vehicle Service Agent for a 20-hour per week part-time fixed-term role until May 2027. You will help prepare vehicles for customers by cleaning, checking fuel and fluids, and reporting damages. Full training is provided.

The role requires a valid class 1 licence and a hands-on, reliable approach. You’ll work on a rotating roster 0730–1800, 7 days a week, with uniforms, parking, and employee discounts available.

Qualifications

• Full, clean class 1 driver's licence required.
• Hands-on/physical labour experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in all weather.
• Willing to work a rotating roster including weekends/public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and preparing interiors and exteriors of returned vehicles.
• Assessing vehicles for new damages and reporting.
• Inputting fuel levels, kilometres into handheld devices.
• Checking fluids, tyres and pressures.

We are looking for help in keeping our fleet looking like new which is an essential part to our operations.20-Hours Part-Time position availableFixed Term until May 2027Based in Christchurch (150 Kilmore Street)Entry level with training providedSupportive, friendly and caring cultureBring your skills and we will put them to good use as part of our fantastic team!About the RoleAs what we call a 'Vehicle Service Agent', you will be a key component to our operations and will be responsible for checking and preparing our vehicles to ensure they are in the best condition possible for our customers.Key responsibilities will include:Preparing the interior and exterior of our vehicles by cleaning, washing, and vacuuming all returned vehiclesAssessing vehicle for any potential new damages and report it as per our vehicle damage procedure.Reviewing returned vehicle gas levels and car kilometres and accurately inputting them into our hand-held devices as requiredRefuelling gas tanks, checking fluid levels and tyre conditions along with pressure and tread depth.What we are looking for:Full, clean, valid class 1 driver’s licence is essential for this role.Previous experience in a hands-on or physical labouring roleAbility to work in a fast-paced environment in all weather conditions delivering a high standard of work.Ability to follow procedures and adhere to company guidelines and standards.We operate 7 days a week, Monday - Sunday from 0730 - 1800 each day.
