Job description

Clean Energy Rotation Programme (Graduate)

Salary: NZD $80,000 - $100,000, depending on experience

Type: Full-time | Two-year rotational programme

About us

We develop, build, own and operate renewable energy projects across New Zealand, with a portfolio covering utility-scale solar, wind and battery energy storage (BESS). New Zealand's next energy chapter, replacing the last fossil generation and electrifying transport and industry, will be delivered by the generation entering the industry now. From our Christchurch office, this programme develops the people we expect to help lead it.

The programme

This is a two-year, full-time rotational position for graduates who want to understand the whole clean energy business before choosing a specialty. You will complete three eight-month rotations across our core functions, shaped around your strengths and interests:

  • Development: siting, consenting, grid connection and the commercial groundwork that takes a project from map to shovel-ready

  • Engineering & Construction: technical design, contractor coordination and delivering projects in the field

  • Finance & Asset Management: investment analysis, project finance and the commercial performance of our operating fleet

  • You will finish the programme with a permanent placement on the team where you have found the strongest fit, along with a network and a company-wide understanding that most professionals take years to build.

What you will do

  • Join each team as a full contributor, with real deliverables and ownership from your first week

  • Support live projects through analysis, modelling, applications, technical reviews and site visits across the country

  • Present your work to senior leadership at the end of each rotation

  • Learn directly from experienced developers, engineers and financiers, with a dedicated mentor throughout

  • Build the cross-functional fluency that accelerates careers in this industry

What we are looking for

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, economics, finance, business or a related field

  • A demonstrated interest in clean energy and the transition to a decarbonised economy

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with data, spreadsheets and learning new tools

  • Clear communication and the confidence to work across every part of a business

  • Adaptability: three rotations mean three new teams, new problems and steep learning curves

  • The right to work in New Zealand

  • No prior energy experience is required. Internships, summer work, research or campus involvement that show initiative are valued. We hire for aptitude and attitude.

What we offer

  • NZD $80,000 - $100,000 base salary, depending on experience

  • Hybrid working from our Christchurch office

  • A structured two-year programme with a dedicated mentor and visibility to senior leadership

  • Guaranteed permanent placement on successful completion

  • KiwiSaver employer contributions, generous annual leave and wellbeing support

  • Relocation support for candidates moving to Christchurch

  • A front-row seat to one of the most renewable energy systems in the world
