Job summary

Kiwitea School seeks a certificated teacher to join as additional teaching capacity. Start date 3 February 2027, end date 15 December 2027. The role aims to reduce class sizes and provide targeted literacy support for identified learners from Years 4 to 6, with potential placement negotiation.

The position is fixed-term to support the school across the 2027 year, focusing on English, health and physical education, mathematics and more within a Year 1–15 composite context.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current teaching registration in New Zealand.
• Proven experience in delivering inclusive literacy support is valued.
• Experience across Year 1–15 contexts is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide additional teaching capacity to reduce class sizes.
• Deliver targeted literacy support to identified learners.
• Contribute to school-wide literacy initiatives and assessment cycles.
• Role currently in a Year 4–6 class, with negotiation possible for placement.

This position has been established to provide additional teaching capacity. The role will enable reduced class sizes and targeted literacy support for identified learners from 3 February 2027 until 15 December 2027. Currently this role in in a Year 4 to 6 class, but this can be negotiated.
