Job summary

InterGroup is seeking a Class 5 Driver Operator to join our Auckland Waste team. This full-time, hands-on role involves operating heavy vehicles across waste collection and transport activities, with loading/unloading, vehicle checks, and customer interaction.

You will operate in Auckland delivering waste safely and efficiently between customer sites and disposal facilities, while supporting day-to-day operations and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Experience operating Class 5 heavy vehicles.
• Dangerous Goods endorsement is preferred.
• Strong commitment to safe driving and safety standards.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 5 vehicles across a range of waste transport activities.
• Complete daily vehicle inspections and equipment checks.
• Load, transport, and unload waste safely and efficiently.

InterGroup is looking for an experienced Class 5 Driver Operator to join our Auckland Waste team.

This is a full-time, hands‑on role operating heavy vehicles across a range of waste collection and transport activities. If you're a reliable driver who enjoys variety, takes pride in your work, and values being part of a good team, we'd like to hear from you.

About The Role

As a Class 5 Driver Operator, you'll operate heavy vehicles across Auckland, transporting waste safely and efficiently between customer sites and disposal facilities.

While driving is the primary focus, this isn't just a seat‑only role. You'll also be involved in loading and unloading, completing vehicle checks, working with customers, and supporting day‑to‑day operational activities.

Every day is different, with a variety of sites, customers, and jobs across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 5 vehicles across a range of waste transport activities
• Complete daily vehicle and equipment inspections
• Load, transport, and unload waste safely and efficiently
• Complete required transport and job documentation
• Work closely with customers and operational teams

About You

You’ll have:

• A full Class 5 driver’s licence
• Experience operating Class 5 heavy vehicles
• A strong commitment to working safely

• Good physical fitness and willingness to assist with operational tasks when required
• Dangerous Goods endorsement
• Experience within the waste, transport, civil, or industrial sectors
