Job summary

Vulcan Steel is looking for a diligent Class 4 truck driver to operate a flat deck truck with a Hiab crane across Auckland. You will load and unload, secure cargo, and assist with yard duties as needed.

The role runs 6am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with no weekend work. Ideal candidates hold a Class 4 licence with at least 2 years of flat deck or heavy-vehicle experience, know Auckland roads well, and can handle load restraint, reversing, and manual handling.

Qualifications

• Hold a current Class 4 licence.
• Minimum 2 years' experience driving a flat deck or heavy vehicle.
• Good knowledge of Auckland roads.
• Comfortable with load restraint, strapping, and reversing.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling.
• Have right to work in New Zealand or valid work visa.
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Use a Hiab crane to load and unload products.
• Strap, secure, and unload metal products safely.
• Deliver orders on time and in full.
• Help pick and pack orders when needed.
• Use a forklift when required.
• Complete simple delivery paperwork and basic system updates.
• Check your truck daily and report any issues.
• Help keep the yard and warehouse tidy and safe.

You will drive a Class 4 flat deck truck with a Hiab crane, delivering metal products around Auckland. It is a hands on role, you will also help with loading, unloading, and general yard work when needed.

Hours are 6am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday, 8 hour days. No weekend work.
