5 Rivers Transport Ltd in New Zealand is seeking two reliable, motivated Class 4/5 Truck Drivers to join our transport and freight operations. You will operate heavy vehicles safely and efficiently while delivering freight to various locations.

Qualifications

• A valid New Zealand Class 4 or Class 5 driver's licence is required.
• Proven experience operating heavy commercial vehicles is preferred.
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing may be required, plus random testing as per policy.
• Clean and satisfactory character record may be needed during recruitment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 4 and Class 5 heavy vehicles in accordance with NZ road rules and company procedures.
• Transport and deliver freight to designated locations.
• Carry out daily pre-start and safety checks of vehicles.
• Ensure loads are correctly positioned, secured and transported safely.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment and procedures.
• Follow delivery schedules and instructions from dispatchers and supervisors.
• Complete delivery documentation and timesheets accurately.
• Communicate professionally with customers and advise of delays or issues.

5 Rivers Transport Ltd is seeking two reliable, motivated & experienced Class 4/5 TruckDrivers to join its transport and freight operations. The company is looking for safety-conscious drivers who will be operating heavy vehicles responsibly and efficiently while transporting goods and freight to various customer and delivery locations. The successful applicants will be responsible for the safe operation of Class 4 and Class 5 trucks, ensuring freight is transported and delivered in a time.

This role will suit drivers who are dependable, physically capable and able to work independently while maintaining good communication with dispatchers, customers and other members of the transport team. Previous experience in freight, transport or heavy vehicle operations will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 4 and Class 5 heavy vehicles in accordance with New Zealand road rules and company procedures.
• Transport and deliver freight, goods and other materials to designated locations.
• Carry out daily pre-start and safety checks of vehicles before commencing work.
• Ensure loads are correctly positioned, secured and transported safely.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment and procedures.
• Follow delivery schedules, assigned routes and instructions from dispatchers and supervisors.
• Complete delivery documentation, timesheets and other required transport records accurately.
• Communicate professionally with customers and advise of any delivery issues or delays.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle condition, mileage, fuel usage and delivery activities where required.
• Identify and report vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, hazards or incidents promptly.
• Maintain the truck in a clean and presentable condition.
• Comply with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
• Follow fatigue-management requirements and ensure safe driving practices at all times.
• Work cooperatively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, customers and other drivers.
• Perform other reasonable transport and freight-related duties as required.

Skills and Experience

• A currentNew Zealand Class 4 and/or Class 5 driver's licence, as required for the assigned vehicle.
• Proven experience operating heavy commercial vehicles is preffered
• Applicants must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and, where required, random testing in accordance with company policies and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Applicants must have a clean and satisfactory character record and may be required to provide evidence of good character as part of the recruitment process.
