Job summary

Tradestaff Waikato is seeking a Class 2 Civil Labourer to join a busy roading crew. Based across the Waikato, you'll drive Class 2 trucks and perform hands-on labouring, assisting with chip seal and road maintenance work.

You’ll work as part of a crew, handle materials, set up sites, follow safety rules, and adapt to changing start times. Previous roading or civil construction experience and a valid Class 2 licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Full Class 2 NZ Driver Licence.
• Experience in roading, chipseal or civil construction.
• Comfortable doing physical labour alongside driving duties.
• Confident around heavy machinery and live worksites.
• Reliable and able to work well in a crew.
• Good understanding of health and safety.
• Flexible with start times and hours.
• WTR endorsements would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Driving Class 2 trucks on roading sites.
• Supporting chipseal and road maintenance crews.
• Assisting with spreading and handling aggregate.
• General labouring, shovelling and site clean-up.
• Moving materials and equipment between sites.
• Working around rollers, trucks and civil machinery.
• Setting up and packing down worksites.
• Following traffic management and site safety requirements.
