Job summary

PlaceMakers Gisborne is seeking a Class 2 Driver to join our team. The role focuses on delivering building products across the Gisborne region with safety and excellent customer service at the forefront.

You'll load and unload, assist in Yard & Drive Thru, support stock movements, and help keep the branch running smoothly. This permanent role offers 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday with rostered Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Full, clean Class 2 NZ Driver Licence required.
• Ability to drive in tight spaces and construction sites.
• Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
• Physically fit with ability to handle regular manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Deliver building products safely and on time across Gisborne region.
• Load, unload, and secure products for delivery.
• Provide outstanding customer service on every job.
• Assist customers in the Yard & Drive Thru.
• Pick orders, replenish stock, and support stock movements.
• Use yard systems to process orders and track inventory.
• Maintain a safe, tidy, and organised yard.
• Support the wider team and contribute to safety culture.

We're seeking a Class 2 Driver with energy, reliability, and a can-do attitude to join PlaceMakers Gisborne.

In this role, you'll be the face of our business, delivering building products safely and on time to our customers across the region, while also supporting our Yard & Drive Thru operations to help keep the branch running smoothly.

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the move, takes pride in great customer service, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. Whether you're making deliveries, helping customers find and load products in the Yard & Drive Thru, or supporting stock movement and yard operations, you'll play a key part in helping our customers get the job done.

Daily responsibilities include:

• Delivering building products safely and on time across the Gisborne region
• Loading, unloading, and securing products for delivery
• Providing outstanding customer service on every job
• Assisting customers in the Yard & Drive Thru
• Picking orders, replenishing stock, and supporting stock movements
• Using yard systems to process orders and track inventory
• Maintaining a safe, tidy, and organised yard
• Supporting the wider team and contributing to a strong safety culture

This is a permanent role, offering 45 hours per week, working Monday - Friday with rostered Saturdays based in our Gisborne Branch

Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds a full, clean Class 2 NZ Driver Licence
• Is confident driving in tight spaces, tricky driveways, and active construction sites
• Has excellent people skills, a cool head, and a customer-first mindset
• Is physically fit and comfortable with regular manual handling and heavy lifting
• Has a strong commitment to health and safety and a reliable, positive attitude

It would be advantageous if you also have:

A current Forklift Licence (F Endorsement)

Hiab experience and/or relevant NZQA Hiab Unit Standards
