Job summary

QBE Insurance in Auckland is seeking a Claims Specialist to join the Long Tail Claims team. Reporting to the National Claims Manager – Long Tail, you will manage a portfolio of commercial liability claims from lodgement to resolution in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

You will triage and register new claims, assess policy coverage, investigate and negotiate outcomes, and build strong relationships with customers, brokers and stakeholders while contributing to risk management and

• Experience in the insurance industry with an understanding of claims processes.
• Exposure to general liability claims or interest in developing liability expertise.
• Customer-focused approach with ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Sound analytical and negotiation skills with a balanced, commercially minded approach.
• Collaborative team player who can problem-solve, influence outcomes and handle challenging conversations.

The Opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, we have an opportunity for a Claims Specialist to join our Long Tail Claims team. Reporting to the National Claims Manager – Long Tail, you'll manage a commercial liability claims portfolio while supporting the triage and registration of new claims. You'll assess policy coverage, investigate claims and negotiate outcomes, delivering a high-quality experience for customers and stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to further develop your liability claims expertise within a supportive and collaborative team.
