Job summary

Archway Recruitment seeks a Civil Supervisor for Wellington to lead site operations on diverse infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery.

You will manage crews and subcontractors across earthworks, drainage, roading and subdivisions, read plans, plan work sequences, and drive programme progress while maintaining records. A minimum of 5 years' civil supervision and a NZ driver’s licence is required; permanent NZ work rights are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' civil construction supervision experience.
• Strong experience in earthworks, drainage, roading, subdivisions.
• Proven people leadership and subcontractor management skills.
• Strong planning, communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Right to accept permanent employment in New Zealand essential.
• Full NZ driving licence.

Job description

Due to continued success in securing projects, this leading civil contractor are now seeking to add an additional Civil Supervisor to their Wellington team.

In this Civil Supervisor role, you'll be responsible for leading site operations, delivering civil projects safely, to programme and specification. Your day to day responsibilities will include managing crews, subcontractors and resources across subdivision, earthwork, roading, 3 waters and general infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise site activities, coordinating labour, plant, and subcontractors
• Drive programme delivery, track progress, and resolve issues
• Read plans and support work planning/sequencing
• Lead crews, toolbox talks, and pre-starts

Health & Safety

• Enforce H&S standards, manage risks, and lead a safety-first culture
• Conduct inspections, audits, and incident reporting
• Maintain SSSPs and site compliance

Quality Management

• Ensure work meets specs and quality standards
• Coordinate inspections and rectify defects
• Liaise with Project Managers and Site Engineers
• Maintain site records and reporting

About You

• 5+ years' civil construction supervision experience

• Proven people leadership and subcontractor management skills
