Job summary

Tradestaff is seeking experienced Civil Operators to join busy civil construction crews delivering projects across Hamilton. If you’re confident operating machinery, have WTR endorsements, and enjoy hands-on outdoor work, we want to hear from you.

Location: Hamilton Central, Hamilton • Start date: Immediate start • Pay: $30–$34 per hour + weekly pay. Ongoing opportunities for the right people with a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• WTR endorsements on your licence.
• Previous civil construction experience operating machinery.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
• Reliable transport.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and other civil construction machinery.
• Complete earthworks, excavation, site prep, digging and trimming to specifications.
• Work safely around underground services.
• Load, unload and move construction materials.
• Backfill and compact materials.
• Spot machinery and maintain a safe site in line with plans and safety procedures.
• Assist with general civil labouring duties when required.

About the RoleYou’ll be part of a hardworking team delivering essential civil infrastructure projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating excavators and other civil construction machinery
• Completing earthworks, excavation, site preparation, digging and trimming to specifications
• Working safely around underground services
• Loading, unloading and moving construction materials
• Backfilling and compacting materials
• Spotting machinery and maintaining a safe worksite in line with site plans and health and safety procedures
• Assisting with general civil labouring duties when required

What We’re Looking For

• WTR endorsements on your licence
• Previous civil construction experience, including operating civil machinery and equipment
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
• Reliable transport
• Strong health and safety awareness
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
