Job summary

Tradestaff is seeking an experienced Civil Operator to join a busy civil construction team in Taupō. You will operate excavators and loaders, perform earthworks and site prep, and work safely around underground services. Immediate start with weekly pay at $30–$36 per hour; NZ-wide travel not required.

Applicants must have current WTR endorsements, a full NZ driver licence, and reliable transport. Class 2 or 4 licences are advantageous.

Qualifications

• WTR endorsements are required and essential.
• Experience operating excavators and loaders on civil sites.
• Full NZ Driver Licence is required; reliable transport.
• Class 2 or Class 4 licences are advantageous.
• Solid understanding of civil site procedures and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and loaders across civil construction sites.
• Complete earthworks, trenching, backfilling and site preparation.
• Load, move and position materials safely and accurately.
• Work around underground services and other site operations safely.
• Carry out daily machinery checks and basic equipment maintenance.
• Assist with general civil construction duties as required.
• Collaborate with ground crews to keep projects progressing safely.
