Job summary

Robert Bird Group (RBG) is seeking an experienced Civil Designer (Civil 3D & 12D) to contribute to design, modelling and drawing production for civil infrastructure projects. This permanent role is based out of Auckland or Wellington offices and involves delivering high-quality civil engineering solutions for major land development and infrastructure schemes.

The candidate should have 8+ years' experience, a Diploma or Certificate in Civil Design/CAD, and proficiency in 12D, Civil3D and BIM

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Civil Design or CAD.
• Experience using roadways, earthworks, stormwater and site grading design software.

The role

We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Designer (Civil 3D & 12D) to contribute to the development of design, modelling and production of drawings across civil infrastructure projects. This is a permanent role based out of our Auckland or Wellington offices and will help deliver civil engineering solutions to our projects/clients.

The successful Civil Designer will have relevant geometric design experience with the ability to work independently on varied design and modelling tasks relating to major land development and infrastructure projects with varying scope and complexity. Ensuring the output is of a high standard within time and cost budget allocations while ensuring client expectations are met.

You will have developed a sound understanding of civil design principles and specialist drafting software skills such as 12D and Civil 3D, and for the preparation of drawings.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• 8+ years’ experience in a similar role mentoring and managing project teams
• Diploma or Certificate qualification in Civil Design / Computer aided drafting
• Using software in the design of roadways, earthworks, stormwater, water quality and general site grading.
• Geometric Roadway design experience to Austroads
• Site grading and earthworks analysis
• Coordination of utility networks and stormwater drainage
• Knowledge and skills in Civil Infrastructure and CAD technologies (12D, Civil3D, BIM Collaboration software’s))
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Problem solving and analytic skills
• Ability to apply theoretical concepts to analyse and interpret information
• Experience in the production of design documentation
