Job summary

HEB Construction in Christchurch seeks Multi-Skilled Operators to work on civil roading maintenance and related projects across the Canterbury region. You will operate a range of plant and support crews to deliver safe, high‑quality work.

On offer: permanent full-time contracts, 40 hours a week, weekly pay, and KiwiSaver contributions after two years; plus a referral bonus and birthday leave.

Qualifications

• Experience operating civil plant and machinery.
• Civil construction or roading maintenance experience.
• Class 4–5 licences or WTR endorsements preferred.
• Strong focus on safety and teamwork.
• Willingness to work across the Canterbury region.

Responsibilities

What will you be doing?

As a Multi‑Skilled Operator, you'll work across a range of civil construction activities, operating plant and equipment while supporting crews on the ground to get the job done safely and efficiently.

Your day‑to‑day may include:

• Operating a variety of civil plant and machinery
• Earthworks, excavation, drainage and roading maintenance activities
• Supporting construction and maintenance projects across Christchurch
• Carrying out pre‑start checks and basic equipment maintenance
• Working alongside experienced crews to deliver quality outcomes
• Maintaining a strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards
• Training and development to grow your career

What we're looking for:

We're interested in people with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and experience operating civil construction equipment.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Civil construction, roading maintenance or infrastructure experience
• WTR endorsements and relevant licences ideally, minimum Class 4‑5
• Experience operating a range of machinery
• A strong focus on safety and teamwork
• The ability to adapt and work across different tasks and projects
• A willingness to pitch in wherever needed
