Job summary

Lake View Seafood Restaurant Wanaka is hiring 3 full-time Chefs to join our team. This permanent role offers 30-40 hours per week on a roster, with an immediate start. The hourly rate ranges from $28.00 to $35.00, depending on skills and experience. Night, weekend and public holiday shifts may be required.

You will prepare Chinese cuisine, supervise kitchen operations, and help maintain high standards of food safety and presentation.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in cooking Chinese cuisine in a commercial kitchen, or a NZ Diploma in Cookery (Level 5 or above), or an equivalent overseas qualification.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
• Drug free with a clean police record

Responsibilities

• Planning menus in consultation with management, considering customer preferences, seasonal availability, dietary requirements and objectives.
• Estimating food requirements and labour costs, monitoring kitchen expenses, and maintaining cost-effective operations.
• Ordering, receiving, checking and maintaining appropriate levels of food supplies and inventory.
• Allocating duties to kitchen staff and coordinating daily kitchen operations.
• Supervising food preparation and kitchen operations to ensure timely meals and quality standards.
