Job summary

The successful candidate will have experience and qualification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and a strong knowledge of NZ mental health legislation. A minimum of 5 years in Mental Health and a commitment to biocultural practice are expected. FRANZCP or equivalent is required.

Excellent communication and PC literacy are essential. Remuneration is negotiable upon experience. This locum role is based at a leading tertiary hospital in Auckland Central, with a strong emphasis on teaching,

Qualifications

• Experience and qualification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• 5 years clinical practice in Mental Health.
• Commitment for biocultural practice.
• Sound understanding and commitment to recovery principles.
• High standard of verbal and written communication.
• PC literacy.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the professional development and supervision of Registrars, House Officers and Students.
• Works with the Child and Family Unit and adolescent mental health inpatient unit serving youths 0–18 and their families.
• Collaborates within a large regional service with other staff and services.
• Relocation and continued medical education support may be available.
