Job summary

Redshield Security Limited in Auckland CBD seeks a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to shape and drive the information security strategy for the organisation. You will establish a robust security posture, manage risk, and ensure regulatory compliance across critical assets.

Leading a team of security professionals, you will develop policies, oversee incident response, drive security initiatives, and communicate with executives to translate complex concepts into business terms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a CISO or equivalent senior security leadership role
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and compliance requirements including ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and NZ Privacy Act
• Proven expertise in security risk management, threat assessment, and incident response
• Strong understanding of security technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, and SIEM
• Demonstrated experience managing and building high-performing security teams
• Excellent strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex security concepts into business language for executive-level communication

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with business objectives and industry best practices
• Establish and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures across the organisation
• Lead and manage the security team, including recruitment, training, and performance management
• Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities across all systems and processes
• Oversee incident response planning and management, ensuring rapid and effective response to security breaches
• Manage security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection
• Ensure compliance with relevant security frameworks, regulations, and industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and NZ Privacy Act requirements
• Conduct regular security audits and penetration testing to identify and address weaknesses
• Report security metrics and key performance indicators to senior leadership and the board
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to embed security awareness and best practices
• Stay informed of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends to continuously enhance organisational defences

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to join Redshield Security Limited in Auckland CBD on a full-time basis. This is a strategic leadership position that will define and drive the information security strategy across the organisation. As CISO, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust security posture, managing risk, and ensuring the company operates in compliance with all relevant security standards and regulations. This role is critical to protecting our assets, clients, and reputation in the competitive cybersecurity landscape.

What we're looking for

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills across all organisational levels
