Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking a Technician for Chemical Research Labs in the School of Environment. The role focuses on technical support for analytical equipment and laboratory operations, primarily serving staff and postgraduate students.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s in Chemistry (or equivalent) with 2–3 years’ chemistry lab experience and will contribute to a diverse, inclusive lab environment at New Zealand’s leading university.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or equivalent tertiary qualification.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in general chemistry laboratories.
• Experience operating analytical equipment listed is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for activities, equipment, and infrastructure of chemistry research laboratories.
• Ensure efficient operation and day-to-day functionality of laboratory spaces.
• Provide equitable technical support to academic staff and postgraduate students, mainly in the School of Environment.
