Job summary

The Kohi Beach Eatery & Store in Auckland is seeking a Chef de Partie to manage a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring consistency, quality and cost control while upholding high food safety and health & safety standards.

You will assist senior chefs with menu items, train junior staff, and collaborate with front of house to maintain a positive kitchen-restaurant relationship. A minimum of 2 years in a similar role is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
• Commitment to food safety and health & safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operation of a designated section of the kitchen.
• Ensure recipes and proportions are strictly adhered to, to ensure consistency, quality and cost control.
• Perform food preparation tasks in the kitchen - assisting senior chefs to prepare stipulated menu items or ingredients for dishes.
• Impart knowledge and training to junior kitchen staff.
• Follow set policies to maintain standards for food safety in all food preparation areas.
• Follow set policies to maintain standards for health & safety at work in all food preparation areas.
• Ensure all equipment and work environments are operational.
• Inform the designated management if any hazards are identified that may affect work conditions.
• Communicate with and support staff.
• Maintain a positive relationship between the kitchen and front of house staff.
