Job summary

Atomic Coffee Roasters in Auckland’s Kingsland flagship café is seeking a dedicated Chef to join our kitchen team. You will prepare and deliver high-quality dishes for both à la carte and cabinet offerings, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and cleanliness in a fast-paced environment.

Working alongside our Head Chef and café team, you’ll contribute to stock control, food safety, and inventory management while supporting daily service and variety in menu items.

Qualifications

• One to two years’ experience as a chef or cook in catering, cafés, or related industry.
• A cooking qualification is a plus.
• Energetic, detail-oriented, and collaborative in a busy café environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver fresh, high-quality dishes daily, including à la carte and cabinet items.
• Maintain kitchen preparation systems for smooth operations from start to finish.
• Assist with stock control, food safety and inventory management.
• Work with Head Chef, Café Manager and team to execute daily specials and menu offerings.

We're searching for a Chef to join our tight knit Kingsland café team. If you're passionate about creating top-notch food and unforgettable dining experiences, then this is the role for you!

The role:

• You’ll work alongside our kitchen team to prepare and deliver fresh, high-quality dishes each day, including both à la carte menu items and cabinet food supplied to our satellite espresso bars.
• You’ll play an important role in maintaining kitchen preparation systems, helping to ensure smooth and efficient operations from start to finish. Supporting daily service, you'll help uphold high standards of food quality, presentation and cleanliness, while contributing to a well-organised kitchen environment during busy periods.
• You'll assist with stock control, food safety and inventory management, and work closely with the wider café team to ensure daily specials and menu offerings are delivered consistently.
• Working alongside our Head Chef, Café Manager, Operations Manager and broader team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, develop your skills and play a key role in delivering exceptional food experiences for our customers.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a passionate foodie who takes pride in creating great food and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You'll bring energy, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to a busy café environment, ensuring quality and consistency in everything you do.

While a cooking qualification is a plus, we’re equally keen to meet people with one to two years’ experience as a chef or cook in catering, cafés, or a related industry.
