Job summary

New World Kaikōura is seeking a Checkout Manager to lead and support a busy checkout team in a 40-hour week. The role includes rostering, admin tasks, and ensuring smooth customer service at the tills and during busy periods.

The successful candidate will be able to lead from the front, set high standards, work well in a team, and stay self-motivated with initiative. Weekend and some evenings are required.

CHECKOUT MANAGER – 40 HOURS PER WEEK

Are you passionate about customer service? Do you have awesome managerial experience? Can you support and inspire a busy team and have excellent communication skills?

We are seeking a Checkout Manager extraordinaire!

The role will involve the following:

• Managing, organising and supporting our checkout team
• Admin tasks such as timesheets and rosters
• Customer services including lotto, checkout operating, packing and supervising
• Overseeing the successful operations of our checkout team

Please note: Our busiest times are long weekends/public holidays, summer holidays and our team members are required to work through these periods.

The person we are looking for will have the following attributes:

• Have a passion for giving excellent customer service and going the extra mile for our customers
• Be able to ‘lead from the front’ and set high standards for the team
• Be able to work well in a team and also be self-managing
• Must be able to show initiative, be honest and reliable
• Must have a positive outlook and a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Have great problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• You must also be physically fit as it involves being on your feet all day
• A liquor duty manager certificate is preferable

This role is 40 hours per week and involves working one day in the weekend and some evening work.
