Job summary

Season's Best Ashburton is recruiting Chaser Tractor Operators for a Seasonal, Full-Time role on a 6-1 roster, day or night shifts, until February 2027. Remuneration will reflect your experience and qualifications.

You will operate tractors, minimise truck wait times, offload product, and maintain the machinery to support fast, efficient harvests. Join New Zealand’s 100% NZ-owned Season’s Best with opportunities across multiple brands and locations, with excellent training and staff perks.

Qualifications

• Reversing trailers and tractor driving experience.
• Formal Agriculture Training/Background (Preferred).
• A Class 2-5 License, W & D endorsement would be advantageous.
• Ability to add load weights to load trucks to the maximum without exceeding.

Responsibilities

• Operating the Tractor / Harvester efficiently and correctly.
• Minimising wait time for trucks.
• Offloading raw product onto cartage vehicles and minimising spillages.
• Maintaining machine; Washing, Blowdown, greasing schedule and general tidiness.
• If harvesting) Maximising harvester head on ground time, maximising harvest area with machine positioned correctly.

About the role

We are looking for Chaser Tractor Operators to join our Team at our Ashburton Vegetable plant. This is a Seasonal, Full-Time role working either Day or Night Shifts on a 6-1 roster until approximately February 2027. This position is often high work intensity and is central to the team's success.Remuneration will be based on your experience and qualifications.

As a Chaser Tractor Operator, you will be responsible for:

• Operating the Tractor / Harvester efficiently and correctly.
• Minimising wait time for trucks.
• Offloading raw product onto cartage vehicles and minimising spillages.
• Maintaining machine; Washing, Blowdown, greasing schedule and general tidiness.
• (If harvesting) Maximising harvester head on ground time, maximising harvest area with machine positioned correctly.
  

For this role, you will need:
