Job summary

Playcentre Aotearoa is hiring a Centre Coordinator to work across Brooklyn and Newtown Playcentres. The role focuses on building adult capability so whānau can lead sessions and enrich children’s learning in a Playcentre environment.

You will provide pedagogical guidance, support curricula, and ensure sessions align with Playcentre philosophy while meeting regulatory requirements, including health and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with families and staff.
• Knowledge of Te Whāriki and current ECE regulations.
• First Aid certification.
• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa.
• Course 3 of Playcentre Education Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop whānau to be the first and best educators for their tamariki by ensuring rich, meaningful, child-led curriculum experiences.
• Role-modelling and supporting the delivery of high quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Providing advice and support to centre whānau focusing on curriculum, adult education and health and safety to support session delivery.
• Ensure sessions meet regulatory and legislative requirements including Health and Safety obligations.
• Recognise the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and actively promote Māori cultural values.
