Job summary

Compass Group New Zealand is seeking a casual Catering Assistant at CHT David Lange Care Home in Māngere East. You’ll help deliver quality catering and dining experiences while supporting residents’ dietary needs.

The role offers flexible casual shifts, on-site parking and opportunities for training and development after continued service. Responsibilities include food prep, plating, service, keeping areas clean, following food safety plans, and stock replenishment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar catering or food service role.
• Knowledge of food safety or HACCP desirable.
• NZQA Food Handling Certificate (167/168) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing, portioning, plating and presenting food.
• Provide warm, friendly and professional service to residents.
• Maintain clean, hygienic and tidy kitchen and dining areas.
• Wash and sanitise dishes, kitchen equipment, pots and crockery.
• Follow special diet requirements, food safety plans and infection control procedures.
• Replenish supplies, receive and rotate stock, and support the wider catering team.
