Job summary

Foodstuffs North Island Limited is seeking a Category Assistant, Butchery to support PAK'nSAVE, New World and Four Square. You will manage product data, pricing and promotions, respond to store queries and liaise with suppliers and the Merchandise team.

You will bring organisational strengths, data-driven decision making and strong communication to help drive accurate pricing and a compelling category offer.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Experience in grocery, FMCG or retail is beneficial.
• Ability to adapt and improve processes in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage product administration, including article creation, new lines, deletions and product changes.
• Support price changes, track competitor activity and help maintain accurate pricing records.
• Coordinate promotional activity, including pricing, advertising allocation, circular proofing, error resolution and store communications.
• Complete post-promotion and ad hoc performance analysis to identify opportunities.
• Respond to store queries and support the wider team to deliver a customer-led Butchery offer.

Te Tūranga – About The Role

As our Category Assistant, Butchery, you’ll join a motivated category team supporting PAK’nSAVE, New World and Four Square. You’ll help keep the category running smoothly by managing product, price and promotional administration, responding to store queries and communicating with suppliers, members and the wider Merchandise team.

In This Role, You Will

• Manage product administration, including article creation, new lines, deletions and product changes.
• Support price changes, track competitor activity and help maintain accurate pricing records.
• Coordinate promotional activity, including pricing, advertising allocation, circular proofing, error resolution and store communications.
• Complete post-promotion and ad hoc performance analysis, helping the team identify opportunities and make informed decisions.
• Respond promptly to store queries and support the wider team to deliver a strong, customer-led Butchery offer.

You’ll be highly organised, accurate and comfortable balancing a wide variety of priorities in a fast-moving environment. You’ll enjoy building relationships, solving problems and using data to support great commercial outcomes.

Ideally, You Will Bring

• Excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and a drive to improve processes.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including experience using VLOOKUP.
• Initiative, resilience and the ability to find practical solutions in a changing environment.
• Experience within grocery, FMCG or retail, although this is beneficial rather than essential.
