Job summary

Foodstuffs North Island is seeking an Assistant Category Manager, Frozen, to support the frozen portfolio across New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square. You will work closely with the Category Manager and assistants to drive range, pricing and promotional opportunities.

You will develop strong relationships with suppliers and store teams, analyse performance data and help position products to meet customer needs in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in the food industry or a similar fast-moving commercial environment.
• Exposure to category management, buying, merchandising, ranging, sourcing or promotions.
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities with trend identification.

Responsibilities

• Support the Category Manager to plan, organise and operate the frozen portfolio.
• Review range, pricing and promotional performance across three banners.
• Manage product, pricing and promotional activity to meet deadlines.
• Build relationships with suppliers, stores and teams across Foodstuffs North Island.
• Contribute to category planning, forecasting, supplier negotiations and product positioning.

Ready to grow your category management career? As our Assistant Category Manager, Frozen,you’lljoin a collaborative team made up of a Category Manager and two Category Assistants, working across a large and growing category.

From frozen vegetables and poultry to tenders, frozenmealsand ice cream,you’llhelp manage the products customers find throughout thefrozenfreezer aisle acrossPAK’nSAVE, New World and Four Square.

In this role, you will:

• Support the Category Manager to plan,organiseandoperatethe frozen portfolio, aligning priorities and measures with the wider company strategy.

• Review range,pricingand promotional performance toidentifyopportunities and improve category outcomes across our three banners.

• Manage product, pricing and promotional activity while ensuring key deadlines and store requirements are met.

• Build effective relationships with suppliers,storesand teams across Foodstuffs North Island.

• Contribute to category planning, forecasting, supplier negotiations, merchandising, rangemanagementand product positioning

We’relooking for someone with food industry experience, or experience from a similar fast-moving commercial environment, who is keen to grow and develop as an Assistant Category Manager.You’llbe curious, commerciallymindedand ready to build your capability within a broad, high-profile category.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Experience in the food industry or a similar commercial environment, with exposure to category management, buying, merchandising, ranging, sourcing,pricingor promotions.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability toidentifytrends and turn information into practical recommendations.

• Confidence using Microsoft Excel, ideally including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables and data analysis.

• Clear communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers,storesand internal teams.

• A proactive and curious approach, with the drive to learn, develop and deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment.
