Job summary

HealthCare NZ is seeking empathetic and passionate Support Workers for casual and permanent roles in the Wellington region, including Lower Hutt and CBD. We support people to live independently at home and in the community, across aged care, disability, and rehabilitation services.

You’ll follow care plans, provide practical and emotional support, and help clients achieve personal goals, with shifts that fit various commitments. NZQA-funded training is available.

Qualifications

• Empathetic and compassionate attitude to support others.
• Healthcare experience is desirable but not essential.
• Healthcare qualifications are advantageous for this role.
• A full NZ driver’s licence and reliable transport are typically required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients to live independently at home and in the community.
• Follow care plans and support clients with practical and emotional needs.
• Meal preparation and assisting with daily activities.
• Support with personal cares such as showering and toileting.
• Assist with home management and community outings as needed.
