Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking reliable casual gardening and maintenance workers to keep outdoor spaces in Waikato's retirement villages looking their best. You’ll assist with mowing, weeding, pruning, hedge trimming, and landscape development as needed, in a supportive team environment.

No prior experience? No problem. If you enjoy outdoor work, have a current driver's licence, and a can-do attitude, we'd love to hear from you. Flexible hours and a team-focused culture await.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Willingness to learn safety practices (health & safety).
• Manual driving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mowing small plant areas and turf maintenance as needed.
• Weeding, pruning, and hedge trimming to keep spaces neat.
• Developing new garden beds and landscapes for residents’ spaces.
• Hand-pulling weeds and vegetation control to maintain safety and aesthetics.

We're looking for reliable casual workers to help maintain beautiful outdoor spaces across multiple retirement villages in the region. As needed, you'll assist with a variety of gardening and maintenance tasks, including:

• Mowing small plant areas
• Weeding, pruning, and hedge trimming
• Developing new garden beds and landscapes
• Hand-pulling weeds and vegetation control

You'll work as part of a team to keep these spaces looking great while ensuring safety for yourself, your team, and the residents.

Who We're Looking For:

No prior experience? No problem! If you enjoy working outdoors and don't mind getting your hands dirty, we want to hear from you. Ideally, you'll have:

• A full, current driver's licence (with experience driving manual is preferred)
• A solid work ethic and a hands-on, can-do attitude
• Knowledge of health and safety practices (or a willingness to learn)
• Good communication skills, as you may interact with residents and the wider community members
• The physical fitness to handle the demands of the role
