Job summary

New Zealand Police in Blenheim is seeking a Custody Officer on a casual basis. You will manage the health and safety of detainees in custody and during transit across custody suites, court houses and transport within the Tasman District.

Through an empathetic approach you will treat everyone with dignity, participate in ongoing training, and collaborate with partners to ensure appropriate care while remaining vigilant and professional in a dynamic operational environment.

Qualifications

• Hold a full New Zealand Driver Licence.
• Be a New Zealand citizen or hold permanent residence.
• Be physically fit and able to pass a fitness assessment.
• Be willing to complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug testing.
• Able to work varying shifts between 6:00am and 3:00am, including weekends and public holidays.

As a Custody Officer, you will manage and maintain the welfare of people detained in our care across our Custody Suites, Court Houses and in transit within the Tasman District.
