Job summary

Rosewood Matakauri in New Zealand is seeking a Chef de Partie to join our luxury kitchen team. You will contribute to exceptional dining experiences and work closely with peers to uphold our high standards in a pristine alpine setting.

We value collaborators who bring 2+ years in a similar role, relevant culinary qualifications, and a passion for delivering memorable meals in a luxury environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as Chef de Partie in a similar standard establishment.
• Relevant culinary/hospitality qualifications.
• Ability to work within a luxury hotel kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menus in collaboration with colleagues.
• Ensure adequacy of supplies at cooking stations.
• Train, develop and support junior chefs.
• Prepare ingredients that should be frequently available (vegetables, spices etc).
• Follow guidance of the head or sous chefs and have input in new ways of presentation of dishes.
• Put effort in optimising the cooking process with attention to speed and quality.
• Enforce strict health and hygiene standards.

What you will do:

The kitchen is where the magic happens in our Luxury property - and you can be part of that! We currently have a fantastic opportunity for Chef de Partie to join our team to create memorable and unique experiences. Duties include -

• Preparing menus in collaboration with colleagues
• Ensuring adequacy of supplies at cooking stations
• Training, developing and supporting junior chefs.
• Preparing ingredients that should be frequently available (vegetables, spices etc)
• Following the guidance of the head or sous chefs and have input in new ways of presentation of dishes.
• Putting effort in optimising the cooking process with attention to speed and quality
• Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards

What you will bring:

• Minimum 2 years previous experience as a Chef de Partie, in a similar standard establishment
• Relevant culinary / hospitality qualifications
• Have excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes.
• Have the ability to think on your feet as we have many guest requests and menu changes each day
• Have good time management and the ability to multitask.
• Thorough understanding of Health & Safety requirements
