Job summary

Rosewood Matakauri in Queenstown is seeking a Kitchenhand to join our luxury hotel team. You will help keep the kitchen area clean, wash pots and assist with basic food preparation, under the shift leader.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, a team player, able to handle high‑pressure periods, and flexible to evenings and weekends. An ability to maintain hygiene and safety standards is essential.

Due to the remote location, reliable transport and valid New Zealand work rights are required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of all areas of the kitchen.
• Ability to think on your feet with guest requests and menu changes.
• Good time management and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen clean and complete daily tasks per cleaning roster.
• Wash pots, pans and dishes.
• Assist with basic food preparation and storage of deliveries as required.
• Maintain health, safety and hygiene to a high standard.

What you will do:

The kitchen is where the magic happens in our Luxury Hotel- and you can be part of that! We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchenhand to join our team. The right applicant must be self-motivated, a team player and work well in a high-pressure environment. Duties include:

• keeping the kitchen clean and completing daily tasks as per cleaning roster
• washing up of all pots, pans and dishes
• basic food preparation & storing of delivery's as required by shift leader
• And ensuring that health, safety and hygiene is maintained at the highest possible level.

What you will bring:

We are looking for a self-starter and excellent team player who can demonstrate:

• A basic knowledge of all areas of the kitchen
• The ability to think on your feet as we have many guest requests and menu changes each day
• Good time management.
• Flexible and willing and able to work evenings and weekends.
