Carpenter – Multi-Region NZ Building Projects (Permanent)

Job summary

Enterprise Recruitment has partnered with leading builders in NZ to place four carpenters for long-term projects. Based in Hawke’s Bay, you may work across Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Manawatu-Whanganui, Auckland and Wellington as required.

Permanent, 30-hour weeks, with a competitive hourly rate and travel/relocation covered for the first two weeks. Applicants should have 2 years’ verifiable construction experience, ability to read drawings and specifications, and skilled timber/material handling

Qualifications

• 2 years’ verifiable work experience in the construction industry.
• Ability to study drawings and specifications to determine materials and installation procedures.
• Experience in ordering materials and preparing layouts.
• Experience erecting framing, roof framing, sub-flooring and floorboards.
• Experience with exterior wall cladding, doors and window frames.
• May construct concrete formwork and repair fittings.
• Willing to travel to multiple NZ regions as required.

Responsibilities

• Study drawings/specifications to determine materials and installation steps.
• Order and select timbers and materials and prepare layouts.
• Cut, assemble, nail parts and erect framing and roof structures.
• Lay sub-flooring, floorboards and verify structural accuracy.
• Fit fascia, cladding, and window/door frames; assemble structures.
