Job summary

Enterprise Recruitment has partnered with leading builders in NZ to place four carpenters for long-term projects. Based in Hawke’s Bay, you may work across Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Manawatu-Whanganui, Auckland and Wellington as required.

Permanent, 30-hour weeks, with a competitive hourly rate and travel/relocation covered for the first two weeks. Applicants should have 2 years’ verifiable construction experience, ability to read drawings and specifications, and skilled timber/material handling

Qualifications

• 2 years’ verifiable work experience in the construction industry.
• Ability to study drawings and specifications to determine materials and installation procedures.
• Experience in ordering materials and preparing layouts.
• Experience erecting framing, roof framing, sub-flooring and floorboards.
• Experience with exterior wall cladding, doors and window frames.
• May construct concrete formwork and repair fittings.
• Willing to travel to multiple NZ regions as required.

Responsibilities

• Study drawings/specifications to determine materials and installation steps.
• Order and select timbers and materials and prepare layouts.
• Cut, assemble, nail parts and erect framing and roof structures.
• Lay sub-flooring, floorboards and verify structural accuracy.
• Fit fascia, cladding, and window/door frames; assemble structures.

Opportunity with a Leader in the NZ MarketEnterprise Recruitment is proud to partner up with leading contractors in the building industry. Our client has long-term projects and are now seeking 4 Carpenters to join their growing team.

These roles will be based in the Hawkes Bay but you could be required to work in the Manawatu-Whanganui , Bay of Plenty, Waikato, Auckland and Wellington region depending on the clients’ needs. Accommodation and relocation costs will be covered by the client for the first two weeks of assignment and while travelling for work.

You will be offered:

Permanent employment in line with NZ employment law, with a competitive remuneration package to match your experience ($30-$35 per hour) 30-hour work week guaranteed. Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm. Successful candidates should have the following skills and experience:

• Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures
• Ordering and selecting timbers and materials and preparing layouts
• Cutting materials and assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts
• Erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying trueness of structures
• Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window frames
• Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install
• Cutting wood joints
• May construct concrete formwork
• May repair existing fittings
• May work with plastic laminates, perspex and metals
