Qualifications

  • Construct and install elements such as roof framing, flooring, and door/window frames with precision.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on existing structures, ensuring durability and safety compliance.

Karmaa Limited is seeking a skilled Carpenter/Joiner to join our dedicated team in Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand. In this full-time role, you will work closely with site supervisors and fellow team members to bring construction projects to life, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. This position offers the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week, allowing for a stable work-life balance.

Core Responsibilities
  • Interpret and analyze construction drawings and specifications to determine project requirements and timelines.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in carpentry or joinery, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, construction specifications, and building codes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and site supervisors.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry, with a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Hand tools: chisels, saws, hammers, measuring devices, and levels for precise work.
  • Power tools: drills, nail guns, circular saws, and jigsaws for efficient construction.
  • Materials: wood, laminates, perspex, and metals for various construction and fitting needs.
  • Safety equipment: PPE, including helmets, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Software: familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD or similar programs is a plus.
Compensation
  • Hourly wage ranging from $32 to $37, commensurate with experience and skill level.
  • Permanent, full-time role with a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 40 hours per week.
