Job summary

Building Recruitment in Auckland is seeking skilled carpenters for immediate start on residential construction projects in Waitakere and the wider North Island. You will assemble timber structures, set out floor framing, install roofing and wall frames, and ensure precise measurements and safety standards on site.

Ideal candidates will have proven carpentry experience, ability to read plans, and a strong work ethic. Own transport and tools are preferred, but not mandatory.

• Physically fit with stamina and able to work outdoors.

• Check measurements, levels and squareness.
• Install flooring sheets and subfloor components.
• Construct timber wall framing and roof framing.
• Install insulation and doors; ensure quality workmanship.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Maintain safety and quality standards throughout modular build process.

Building Recruitment – Waitakere, North Island

• Assemble timber floor structures and flooring systems on steel portal/chassis frames.
• Set out and construct timber floor perimeters and floor joists.
• Check and maintain correct measurements, levels, and squareness throughout construction.
• Install timber flooring sheets and subfloor components.
• Construct and erect timber wall framing.
• Install roof framing and roof structures.
• Fit insulation to walls and roof cavities.
• Hang and install internal and external doors.
• Install rigid air barriers and weather protection systems.
• Complete finishing carpentry including stopping boards, trims, and finishing details.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Work safely and maintain quality standards throughout the modular build process.

Carpenters Required - Immediate start

Key Responsibilities

To Be Considered, You Must Have

• Proven carpentry experience in residential construction.
• Strong experience with:
  • Timber floor framing and floor joists.
  • Timber wall framing.
  • Roof framing.
  • Installing flooring systems.
  • Hanging doors.
  • Building structures square and to plan.
• Ability to read construction drawings.
• Physically fit with good stamina
• Own transport and tools
• Physically fit with good stamina
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Speed and Accuracy required
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Current Site Safe licence
