Job summary

Responsive Group Inc. seeks a Dietary Aide for a retirement home in Wellington. The role involves preparing meals as directed, ensuring resident safety, and delivering high-quality care aligned with our mission.

The position reports to the Food Service Manager and emphasizes teamwork and compassionate service. The ideal candidate has a Food Handler Certification, experience in healthcare or hospitality food service, and flexibility to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Preference given to candidates with retirement home food service experience.
• Ability to read and follow resident documentation and orders.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
• Must provide TB test or chest X-ray per Health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participate in department and town hall meetings.
• Maintain open communication with staff and other team members.
• Encourage participation in the Home's committees/teams.
• Report observations to Food Service Manager regarding resident care and preferences.
• Mentor new staff and students.
• Support and promote a team approach.
• Ongoing delivery of customer service with staff, residents, families, and the public.
• Ensure quality of life for residents through individualized care.
• Report faulty equipment and ensure removal from the unit.
• Complete documentation records for each shift and audits.
• Understand and participate in improving quality indicators.
• Utilize all documents pertaining to food service and Ministry requirements.
• Work within budgetary constraints for food service.
• Other duties as assigned.
