Job summary

Dunedin Hospital, Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator – Cardiology Cath Labs to join a small, highly skilled team. The role supports Cardiology across Cath Lab, Procedure Room and Day Unit, with a 0.9 FTE (72 hours per fortnight) schedule and hours 0700–1800 plus an on-call roster.

You will coordinate lists, support pre- and post-procedural care, foster clinical leadership and contribute to capability development in partnership with the Charge Nurse

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current Nursing Council of New Zealand registration and APC.
• Cath Lab nursing experience with knowledge of coronary angiography, PCI, pacemaker insertion.
• Strong leadership and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Work with CNM to establish high clinical and professional standards.
• Coordinate day-to-day Cath Lab, Procedure Room and Day Unit operations.
• Oversee daily procedural lists and patient flow; liaise with multidisciplinary team.
• Promote safe, high-quality nursing care and clinical practice.
• Support staffing and allocate nursing staff across Cath Lab areas.
• Coordinate meal breaks and workload distribution.
• Identify risks, escalate to CNM as appropriate.
• Develop nursing capability through orientation, education and appraisal.
