Job summary

Health New Zealand Waitematā invites applications for a Cardiac Physiologist (1 FTE) across North Shore and Waitākere Hospitals. The role requires 1–2 years’ experience and registration with SCT/CPRB, plus an APC. You will support a comprehensive cardiology service within a patient‑focussed team.

You will perform Holter/ECG testing, assist in catheterisation procedures, and manage device clinics with remote monitoring while ensuring accurate documentation and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years' experience in Cardiac Physiology.
• Registered with the Society of Cardiopulmonary Technology (SCT) and CPRB.
• Annual Practising Certificate (APC) current.

Responsibilities

• Perform Holter scanning and reporting to a high standard.
• Assist with cardiac catheterisation procedures (Angio, PCI, right heart studies).
• Fully support cardiac device implants and manage device clinics and remote monitoring.
• Conduct ECGs, Holter, ABU and event monitor fitting, Exercise Treadmill Tests (ETTs) and Spirometry.

About the Role

The Cardiology Service at Health New Zealand Waitematā are seeking a qualified Cardiac Physiologist with a minimum of 1-2 years experience to join our team. As a Cardiac Physiologist, you will be involved in procedures such as Holter scanning/reporting, cardiac catherisation procedures (Angio, PCI, right heart studies). We also fully support all cardiac device implants and manage cardiac device clinics and remote monitoring. Our team of Cardiac Technicians perform most of the following tests ECGs, Holter, ABU and Event monitor fitting, Exercise Treadmill Tests (ETTs) and Spirometry. However sometimes physiologists need to support these to. You will be responsible for performing the above tests to a very high standard of accuracy and maintaining good documentation.
