Job summary

New Zealand Couriers is seeking a driven Business Development Consultant to join our South Island sales team. This field role involves meeting prospective customers, identifying opportunities, and delivering tailored courier solutions for growth in the Canterbury region.

You’ll develop opportunities, build relationships, and maintain a robust sales pipeline to help achieve revenue targets, while collaborating with Customer Services and Operations to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in business development, field sales, or account management.
• Proven ability to win new customers and achieve sales targets.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong commercial judgement and confidence negotiating with decision-makers.
• High levels of self-motivation, resilience and accountability.
• Great organisational skills and the ability to manage your own schedule.
• A current full New Zealand Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Developing new business opportunities across the Central and Southern Canterbury region.
• Prospecting, networking, and meeting with potential customers face-to-face
• Building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets
• Preparing and presenting tailored solutions that meet customer needs
• Negotiating commercial agreements while maintaining profitable growth
• Managing the customer journey from initial contact through to onboarding
• Working closely with Customer Services and Operations to ensure a seamless customer experience
• Maintaining accurate CRM records, forecasts, and activity reporting.
• Representing New Zealand Couriers professionally within your local business community
