Job summary

Metlifecare is seeking a vibrant Café Assistant for our Golflands village cafe. You will serve residents and visitors on Sundays, bring warmth to the dining experience, and report to the Food Services Manager.

Responsibilities include taking orders, making coffee, serving meals, assisting in food prep, handling the register, and keeping the cafe tidy. This part-time role offers attractive benefits.

Qualifications

• Hospitality or cafe experience is preferred.
• Hygiene and food handling knowledge is beneficial.
• Reliable, mature and courteous with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Take food and beverage orders from residents, visitors and staff.
• Make coffee using a semi-automatic machine.
• Serve and collect meals in the café.
• Assist the cook with food preparation in the kitchen.
• Operate the cash register and handle transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness of cafe equipment and kitchen area.

About the role

We are looking for a fabulous and vibrant Café Assistant to work at our in stunning village in Golflands – Fairway Gardens. Reporting to the Food Services Manager, you will be providing exceptional service and a great dining experience to our residents, family and friends!

This is a permanent, part-time position working Sunday 8.30am to 3.30pm = 6.5hrs week.

There may also be the opportunity for you to pick up additional shifts also.

Some of the great things you will be doing:

• Taking food and beverage orders from our residents, visitors and staff
• Making amazing cups of coffee (semi-automatic machine)
• Serving and collecting meals in our café
• Assisting the Cook with food prep in the Kitchen
• Operating the cash register
• General cleaning including café equipment and washing up in the kitchen

About you

You have exceptional customer service skills and a vibrant and welcoming personality.

Some things that will support your application include:

• Impeccable personal presentation
• A warm and friendly nature and a ‘Can do attitude’
• Mature and reliable with exceptional communication skills
• A Hygiene & Food Handling Certificate (not essential) as well as and/or commercial kitchen experience
